Naga: Naga are a sentient and tribal race of Snake-people. Not a common sight in Viragor due to being wary of other races. Naga are more muscular and much larger then a human, and quite resiliant due to having scales for skin. Razor sharp claws and teeth have given the Naga ample tools to survive as a tribal people, not having a great need for tools has left them behind the other races. Naga have no idea how to work metals. Their lower halves, are capable of srushing smaller creatures if held on long enough. It is known that Naga can easily distinguish their age by their length, and all Naga are capable of reaching great lengths of forty feet or greater. However Naga have snake-like lower bodies, capable of short bursts of speed when needed, but most of the time their pace is that of a human jog. The Naga have five different clans throughout Viragor, and the eight clans are each unique species of Naga, each clan having a unique trait among them.
The Celerity Clan, the smallest of the Naga clans make the grasslands of Helvinon their hunting grounds. These Naga are the only Naga to hold a potent and toxic venom in their fangs, which is used to hunt even the largest of creatures to feed the Celerity tribes.
The Subaku Clan make the harsh sands of Bagara their home. The largest of the clans the Subaku are likened to hooded cobra's. The hoods not only encompase the head and neck but sometimes the arms as well. Their massive hoods a sign of strength and position. These Naga can use their hoods to glide along the dunes of Bagara, the heat off of the sands and the winds giving them the lift needed for their flight.
The Baasooki Clan hunts in the tree-tops of Filumdi. Being the smallest in size, they have exchanged power and strength for speed. The Baasooki clan have chameleon skin. Able to blend with their surroundings by meerly touching it. This trait however has made them a ample target for those seeking their skins. The Baasooki's chameleon power persists in their skin, even after death, they are more likely to kill a trespasser then be wary of them.
The Tempus Clan hunts the depths of Parocus and lives on her shores. The Tempus Clan have fins that allow for much greater speeds in water then they do on land. They also have adapted to their ocean hunting ground by having a very strong lung, capable of holding air for great lengths of time. The Tempus clan is the only clan of Naga that uses metal tools. They are unable to forge them, but they gather weapons and tools that have been left behind by other races, to be used in their rituals.
The Pyrus Clan survive in the harsh lands of Cydur. These Naga are Immune to flames of all kinds. The older members of the clan are not only immune to even molten rock, but the eldest of the tribes are able to ignite themselves. The Pyrus clan have been nick-named "Salamanders" due to their mastery of the flame.
Appearance:
Vasuki looks like most members of the Tempus clan. Most his body is a odd shade of green, with the scale-plates adorning his head are teal. The Sandy chest and stomach scales line his under-side, while his fins fade from a blood-red to pure white. His piercing yellow eyes hold a greater intelligence then his appearance would make some think.
Large for his age Vasuki is thirty feet long, he usually 'stands' at seven feet but for intimidation he can make himself stand ten feet. A lean muscular build that has quick but powerful strikes in mind, in addition his rather broad shoulders and long arms give him a large reach.
Naga rarely wear clothes, their rugged skins keep them comfortable in most climates. Some Naga wear clothes either for status, or to hide scars and deformities. However Vasuki wears what looks like a torn piece of fabric with a strange crest adorned upon it wrapped around his right wrist. A small silver pendant adorns his neck, bearing the same crest on the front. The crest itself is of a rose encircling held together by chains.
The strangest thing about Vasuki is his traveling companion, a small young human girl.
The small girl says her name is Tali, her clothes appear to be slapped together from rags of those much larger then her, she carries a small stuffed toy with her. Her long white hair is strange, but not uncommon in this era. Although young, her blue eyes seem to hold a understanding of someone much older.
Weapons/Items: The pendant around his neck and the silk wrapped around his hand seem to be the only items Vasuki holds. However he has Tali carry his flint for him. The flint is used to start campfires so that Tali isn't cold during the night. Tali only has her toy rabbit and the clothes she wears.

Talents:
Vasuki is a Tempus Warrior, he has training in tracking, survival, and combat. However his talents lie in his ambush tactics. Vasuki can stay calm and still for hours, awaiting the perfect time to strike, making hunting on land highly successful. His greatest talent is his fishing, like most Tempus naga his speed in the water lets him catch fish with ease.
Personality:
For coming from a tribal people, Vasuki is quite the emotional and slightly heroic naga. However his body language screams predator, making him seem rather conflicting at a glance. Vasuki seems like a quiet one, but he simply doesn't know how to interact well with other people, although when around children he seems to be much more open. Even among his tribe he wasn't very social with his peers. He speaks more with Tali then with others, even having her speak for him in some cases.
Vasuki is very protective of his charge Tali, valuing her life over his with ease. To him, hatchings are the future and should be taught well and protected. For this he is seen as heroic, putting his life in the way to protect others. To Vasuki this is how it should be, the old protecting and teaching the young.
Tali is a shy child at first, but open and trusting as she come to know people. For her age she's a rather out-spoken, and active girl. She has become rather attached to Vasuki, seeing him as a parental figure or big brother even. However at times she is a sad, and terrified child. Memories of her loss still haunt her dreams, and sometimes even these memories bleed over to the day.
History:
Vasuki was brought into the world on the coast of Saravis, born to the Shark-fin tribe of the Tempus clan. like most Naga he was raised in a clutch with other hatchlings born in the same year. From the very beginning he was taught how to survive, and how to hunt. It was the tribes way of life, either survive or die. Vasuki, along with his fellow clutch-brothers and sisters never knew their parents, all of them being raised by the Den-watcher and taught by the elders. Among lessons of hunting and survival, they were taught the social code of the Naga. To not harm your brethren, not to steal from your brethren, and to aid the hatchlings when in need. Vasuki took all the lessons to heart, and took to survival like a fish to water.
At ten years of age Vasuki had become a adult among the naga, meaning it was time for him to help keep his tribe alive. For his first hunt his trial would to be bringing back one of the great predators of the sea, a great shark. Vasuki set out to the sea, swimming long and hard in search of his prey. He had finally found a great shark, it having almost taken his whole tail in one bite. The shark was fierce and fast, never letting up on it's assault on Vasuki. However Vasuki was faster, and used his speed to his advantage. He then did what many would consider insane and suicidal, as the shark made it's next charge, he dived right down its throat. Flying past all the teeth like a bullet Vasuki began tearing the shark apart from within. The shark was dead within seconds of the internal slaughter. With his great victory in tow, and the large shark able to feed many of his tribesmen he swam back a adult, and a great tale for next-years hatchlings.
Only two years after his trial of passage, Vasuki was chosen to be a Den-watcher for a time. His task was the third greatest in the tribe, only warriors and the tribal leaders were above him now. His task was simple, teach the hatchlings well and keep them safe. Some naga view this as an easy task, however for Vasuki this was the greatest honor for him. He had however forgotten how energetic hatchlings could be. They wore him out, got into trouble and him having to pull them out, and Vasuki enjoyed every moment of it. With his careful eye and teachings the hatchlings grew rapidly, and became skillful in the ways of survival.
Watching the hatchlings was not always fun and games however. Vasuki had to pull more then one tail out of the fire whenever one of the hatchlings wandered off. Getting lost, stuck in one of the Tempus pit-traps, or worse of all being chased by a predator. Only seven years into his task of watching over the hatchlings did a nightmare for any Den-watcher occur. Vasuki had taken the hatchlings away from the camp to teach them on some more advanced survival skills. It was then that they all heard a howl, while the hatchlings recognized it as a wolf howl, Vasuki knew it was a howl for the hunt. Vasuki got the hatchlings moving back to camp fast, hoping to the gods that the pack of predators was not homing in on them. They were barely half way when a pair of large black wolves jumped out of the brush. The hatchlings huddled together with their backs to each other like Vasuki taught them, make it as hard as possible for a wolf to get to your weak spot. With all the hatchlings together, it made the wolves think that Vasuki, being the only larger target would be easier prey. The pair charged forth with a howl of battle, inciting the rest of the pack to attack. Vasuki was almost paralyzed with fear, this was a pack of twelve of more coming after him. But even with death charging down at him he was vigilant, if he were to fall the hatchlings would be next. With his claws and teeth bared, he lashed out at the pack of predators. His strength and quick striking speed ensured that any beast he struck down with his claws would not be getting up. The first wolf dropped had met the gruesome end of having Vasukis claws penetrate its' skull like arrows. The rest of the pack however pounced, trying to dog-pile him with their combined weight. Their teeth were like knives but he would not fall, he would not let these beasts harm his charges. The wolves had Vasuki pinned to the ground, but not defenseless. With both arms he struck out, hearing a pair of wolves yelp out in agony he then wrapped his tail around the largest of them, and began crushing it in his coils. One of the beasts had made a attempt at tearing his throat out, instead Vasuki shredded its' throat with his own teeth. The wolves got off of their target, and began backing off. With the loss of three pack mates, their leader dying in Vasukis coils, and two others injured the large snake-man was more predator then prey. It was then that Vasuki let out a primal and predatory roar, cementing the wolves fear of him they fled. He had many bite and claw wounds, but he would survive the damage. He had done his task in protecting the young ones. With his and the hatchlings return to the camp along with his four kills, he had the young ones ushered off to see if they had been injured, and the kills taken to feed others while his wounds were tended too. The hatchlings told the elders of his battle to protect them, and from these tales they had been impressed. So impressed were they that they had elected him a warrior of the tribe.
At first Vasuki was proud of his climb in position of the tribe, but as the years crawled on he had learned of what the warriors do other then protect the tribe. The warriors and elders of the tribe ambush parties of humans that passed by. Vasuki didn't like it, but the elders said they did it to punish those that walked into their area, and to gather the metal tools the humans carried and used. The years crawled on for Vasuki, making him stronger and wiser for it. But nearly six years as a warrior of the tribe had made him begin questioning the elders. They attacked human groups that were close to their hunting grounds, but the humans never actually entered. They spoke the same language, why couldn't they just talk and establish trade. Vasukis vision of the elders was forever warped on his last raid as a Tempus Clan naga.
They had been awaiting the passage of some humans for a while now, and their patience had paid off with a large carriage being escorted by at least fifteen armored humans on horse-back. Their ambush party of thirty warriors and a Elder had the advantage in Vasukis eyes. The humans weapons were like their claws and teeth, their armor like their scales. But they were small, easily wrapped and crushed to death. When they launched the ambush, the first thing they did was kill the horses. Even without them the humans could out-run them if they chose to, but the horses would give them the speed needed to win the fight. The armored escort was in a panic from the sudden attack, most of the humans not even have seen or even heard of a naga before. The elder assaulted the carriage while the warriors handled the humans with two to one odds. Vasuki and his partner had easily dispatched their target, he hadn't even seen them coming. He had sent his partner off to aid another pair with their target, and he had been about to aid more of his brothers when he heard a scream. Most of the screams had been of men and women in armor but that scream he knew well, it was the cry of a terrified child. The sound had come from the carriage, where the elder was. He turned to see something that made him snap into a berserker rage. The elder was slithering out of the carriage, carrying a dead woman dressed in fine silks, while below him on the ground was a small terrified child. The elder was violating one of their laws, and the one law that Vasuki held above all others. It was with a roar of pure rage that he charged the one elder that would dare to violate that law. The elder only had time to look to the source of the battle-cry with surprise before Vasuki was upon him. The elder dropped the corpse in order to defend himself from the frenzied Vasuki. While the elder had experience under his belt, Vasuki had strength and had yet to be exhausted by battle. It was over in seconds, the elder had made to defend himself while Vasuki had gone fore the kill. His claws had gone for the throat, and the elder was too slow from battle exhaustion. With his hand still buried into the now dead elder, the sounds of battle stilled. The humans were dead, and the other naga severely injured. Vasuki would be banished, if not hunted down for this act but he didn't care. He tossed the elders body to the side and let out a battle-cry of fury. In their state and seeing an elder, considered the strongest of the tribe dead at the claws of one of their own that was uninjured. They did the only logical thing to them, they fled in absolute fear of the traitor. As the battle frenzy left him, Vasuki looked about the battlefield. The child he had just given up everything to protect lie on the ground, the events taking their toll on her. He slithered over to the deceased woman, her fine silks bearing a strange emblem he had never seen before. He tore a piece of the silk bearing the emblem off, as well as a pendant she wore with the same mark. He then took the time to bury the murdered woman and mark her grave. The poor child still out from the traumatic event was scooped up by the large arms of Vasuki as he began to slither along the road. There and then he made a blood-oath to the child, and her passed mother. He would see the girls safe return to her family, no matter the cost.
