I'll use this thread to clarify some things that I've noticed people might get confused about, or might otherwise look over while reading the rules and profiles. It's not a big deal, I just want you all to be mindful of it for later on.
I've noticed already some things such as the military ranks and age of characters. I probably just mention each of those once in the rules and profiles, so that would be my fault that you might have overlooked them. In either case, I'll explain. For right now, starting out, I want the first characters people create to be of relatively young age, between 16 to 24 or 25. The reason I'd like for it this way is because I want people to start off weak for at least one character they have. Later on, when other characters are made if anyone chooses to make them and when we get far enough into the RP itself, I won't enforce this, but for first time characters, I'd like them within those age ranges. Our first characters will start off at the bottom, with barely any power except for some skills here and there. Take my character Zero for example. He has good balance, making him some what skilled with a blade, he has the coat to make him invisible, and he is good sneaking around, as he is a thief. On the other hand, he's a Dhampir, meaning he can be good at battling, but in the sun, he's reduced to one third of his strength. It's like a trade off, and he's not even powerful. Frankly, he might be considered weaker than the rest of the characters here once in the sun.
As for military ranks, I would like to apologize for not making some things clear. I'm very unfamiliar with how military ranks go, so I'm just going by a list of common ranks on wikipedia that I found and I'm going to use it here in the mean time.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_comparative_military_ranks
Below is the chart from wikipedia, only just modified to reflect the conditions of the RP. I felt it would be needed to change some things around, such as names to better set them apart from others. Plus also note that this list will be used for both armies in the nearby kingdoms and the Dark Army.
Navy forces Land forces Air forces Dark Warlord
Grand Admiral Dark Warlord
Grand General Dark Warlord
Grand Marshal Admiral General Marshal Commodore Brigadier Air Commodore Sea Captain Colonel Sky Captain Commander Lt. Colonel Wing Commander Lt. Commander Major Squadron Leader Navy Lieutenant Captain Flight Lieutenant Sub Lieutenant Lieutenant Flying Officer Ensign 2nd Lieutenant Officer Midshipman Officer Cadet Air Officer Cadet Warrant Officer Sergeant Major Air Warrant Officer Petty Officer Sergeant Air Sergeant Leading Seaman Corporal Air Corporal Seaman Private Airmen
I'll most likely modify these later when I get some time to, but for right now, this is the basic list of ranks. The air forces and stuff pretty much mean anything that flies, including riding birds, and dragons. That aren't any planes right now, and as for flying ships, it's an idea I've been playing with, but for now, no flying ships. Air force ranks will more commonly be known in Judita, Cydur and Asadur, and very rarely known throughout the rest of Viragor.
As you can see by the list, the Dark Warlords are the equivalent to the Grand Admirals, Generals, and Marshals, and the ones below are second to them. After actually making a list myself and trying to figure things out, I've decided that for starting characters, no one should be above the ranks of Midshipman, Officer Cadet, and Sky Officer Cadet. I want characters to start off weak and move up, to get them through the RP. Which links back to what I was saying earlier about ages. I doubt anyone is going to be higher than the ones I mentioned at the age of 20 to 22 just yet. Once Novo Animus start coming up all over the place, things will certainly change, but for right now, no one above these ranks starting off.
I hope this clears some things up =) If you have any questions, just post and ask =)
